Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship>> WE'RE GOING INTO OUR 41ST YEAR HERE AT "ALMANAC" ON TPT AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE I'VE BEEN DOING MONOLOGUES FOR 17 OF THOSE YEARS?
THEY SENT ME DOWN TO NASA TO DO A STORY ABOUT KATHERINE JOHNSON, THE WOMAN WHO HELPED SAVE THE APOLLO SPACE MISSION FOR WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH.
I EVEN GOT TO TALK TO JUSTIN JEFFERSON OF THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS HOW THEY'VE GOT OUR CLUTCHING OUR PEARLS AND CLENCHING OUR TEETH AND BITING OUR NAILS EVERY WEEK WHEN THEY GOT THOSE LAST MINUTE, LAST-SECOND GAMES.
I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING FROM WEARING WIGS TO PUTTING ON VAMPIRE COSTUMES.
BUT IT'S TIME I TAKE IT UP A NOTCH.
AFTER 17 YEARS, IT AIN'T EASY BEING BREEZY.
SO I'VE GOT TO LOOK AROUND ME AND FIND SOME INSPIRATION, IT CAN'T JUST BE ALL ABOUT POLITICS, POP CULTURE, AND SPORTS.
THIS CHRISTMAS I SAW SOMETHING THAT CHANGED MY LIFE.
NO, IT WASN'T SANTA SNEAKING IN TO DELIVER CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR MY KIDS.
BUT I TELL YOU, IT INSPIRED ME TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, TO DO MY MONOLOGUES IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT WAY!
BUT AFTER CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF "ALMANAC," T'S TIME FOR THE MONOLOGUES TO GO BIG.
I MEAN, REALLY BIG!
I MEAN, WE GOT TO DRAW INSPIRATION FROM SOME OF THE BIGGEST NAMES IN MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT!
I'M TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE BEYONCE.
♪♪ BUT FIRST I GOT TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ON THIS HORSE.
